Description
The small I2C multiplexer PCA9548A allows the connection of up to
8 I2C devices. The multiplexer has 8 different I2C addresses, from 0x70 to 0x77. This can also be used to control 8 multiplexers, resulting in 64 different I2C addresses.
Using this PCA9548A expansion card is straightforward, and it can be used on a breadboard with capacitors and pullups and pulldowns. Some headers are required, and once soldered in, you can plug it into a solderless breadboard.
The operating voltage of 1.8V to 5V allows you to run the 8-channel multiplexer at any logic level.
